Tournament Format:
Open Pool, then Play-Offs

First 4 weeks: Pool stage - all play all in the club's unique arena-style pairing system.

End of 4th week: Visitor prizes announced, and club players are split into divisions and progress to the play-off stage.

Divisions are decided based on ratings PRIOR to the tournament start (this uses the most recent results to estimate those ratings retrospectively).

Masters Division: Invitation only
A, B, C, D Divisions: Players are divided into approximately even numbers based on the player ratings.
Visitor Division: For players who were not already playing in the club regularly this year.

During the pool stage, players can play as many games as they like. The standings are determined by a series of tiebreaks:

Points from the player's first 11 games.
Points from all of that player's games.
Percentage result of all games: total points divided by total number of games played.
Time of last win (an earlier win beats a later win).

Pool Stage Results

Columns are the divisions: A, B, C, D, Master, Visitor
Players ordered by standing, 1st is at the top.

Visitor Division Results

For the Visitors Division, the top three are awarded, 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
The prizes are medals and cash prizes:

1st: Louka Bardot - $50 + medal
2nd: Seth Kereopa - $40 + medal
3rd: Yuteng Zhang (Neil) - $30 + medal

Play-off Stage

For A, B, C, D, the top 4 players progress to the play-offs.
For the Master Division, all players progress to the play-offs.

The pool stage results determines the player seed number.

This stage follows a knock-out format:

Step 1: 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3
Step 2: Winners play-off for 1st and 2nd. The others play-off for 3rd place.

The players will play 2 games (one of each colour) with the higher placed player in the preliminaries choosing the initial colour. The games will be played with the same (10 mins + 2 sec) time controls.
If the score is tied, a final Armageddon blitz game (3 mins + 2 sec) will be played with black given draw odds. The player with the higher place in the preliminaries will choose which colour to play.
